Tree Fertilization & Soil Improvement
Give your trees a "pick-me-up"
Proper tree and shrub fertilization provides necessary nutrients that may be lacking in your soil, and can greatly improve plant health and vigor. If your trees and shrubs don't look their best, deep root fertilization can give them the "pick-me-up" they need.
MONTGOMERY & BUCKS COUNTY TREE FERTILIZATION
Deep Root Fertilization
Tree fertilization isn't just a matter of dumping a whole lot of bagged fertilizer around your tree. Instead, it's important to know exactly what each tree needs (and doesn't need!) and apply that in a way that's best for the tree.
To get nutrients to the tree most effectively, we use specialized tools to inject liquid fertilizer and soil amendments into the soil around your trees. You'll often hear this referred to as deep root fertilization.
Deep root fertilization puts nutrients right where the tree needs them - in the root zone. This allows tree roots to more quickly absorb what they need without runoff into nearby water and wasted fertilizer.
We do not use high-nitrogen chemical fertilizers that encourage rapid growth. Research and experience have proven that plants growing rapidly in response to nitrogen fertilization are more susceptible to insect and disease attack. This occurs because fast-growing and succulent new leaf and twig growth is more nutritious and thus more attractive to insects and diseases. Plus, nitrogen fertilization causes plants to reallocate stored resources, putting more energy into growth and less into defense and stress tolerance.
Before we do deep root fertilization for your trees, we carefully check to see what the best options are for your trees and surrounding landscape. Some of the things we look at include:
Tree species
Tree health
Soil conditions
Tree location
Recent & forecasted weather
Previous treatments
Surrounding plants and structures
We Can Help Stressed Trees
When soils are disturbed, as in the transplanting process, it takes years for these trees and shrubs to develop a healthy, intricate network of structural and feeder roots. Other factors can also put a great deal of stress on your trees, including:
Drought
Construction
Irrigation installation
Soil compaction
Grade changes
Unfortunately, it often takes 3-5 years or more before you see the impact of these stressors on the tree's health.
It takes a tree at least 5 years to recover from a drought, and during that time there are usually several additional drought periods. This is why deep root fertilization of your key landscape trees should be a component of your landscape maintenance program at least every couple of years.
The End Result is Healthy, Beautiful Trees.

The crew did a great job always. They were courteous, knowledgeable and always cleaned up all the debris. The team that did the grinding of the stumps, also did an amazing job and cleaned up. We'll call them for fertilization next! Thanks again!
